Year 7 and 8 Exhibition

Wow! Three letters, one word - but the only way to describe the Year 7 and 8 Art Exhibition last night in the May Hall. Given the open brief 'My Art', these pupils have been working away at home to produce artwork that conveys their passions and interests. The results, frankly, blew our socks off! It was a lovely evening, on which prizes were awarded, accolades given and 'pats on backs' duly distributed.

Well done!

Thanks to our brilliant technician, Charlotte, who spent four days in the eye of the storm, making it all happen!

A few little photographic sketches of the evening follow below.

Familiar Landscape?

Do the following scenes look familiar? If you have ever attended Trent College, the skylines of these slightly surreal buildings might ring a bell! Local windows and doorways have also been used to create these scenes, and students have arranged them on distressed cardboard surfaces to mimic strange, weathered and imaginary landscapes. The structures are offset by a mountain range of tonal perspective - to lend another layer of mystery...

It's amazing that with a few simple resources, these pupils have conjured up such enigmatic and atmospheric landscapes.

Well done! (especially to Georgia, Leah and Charlie, whose work is featured here!).
